Once the promenade around the Masjid E Javeed is over, visit Aasai Chettinad Restaurant. The key aspect of this restaurant is the Chinese cuisine. On Facebook, Aasai Chettinad Restaurant hasn't got a high rating.
Eventhough the ambiance isn't good enough; the food served are good...well once tried fried chicken fried rice it was simply superb for a chettinad rest, atlast jus wanted to give a try to panner butter masala and it turned out to be my fav dish here...even if its lunch I go for paneer butter masala n butter naan...
I just can't make piece with the fact that while many over-hyped, ridiculously priced and lousily managed chettinad restaurants in Annanagar swarming with crowd but not this place...
We ventured into Aasai Chettinad Restaurent reluctantly because the place was sparsely crowed, especially considering that it was a weekend night..
So we were a bit conservative in our order...but just a sip of Aasai special chettinad chicken soup, our notions broke..it was so good, so earthy, so yummy... Then for the starters, we ordered dragon fish (why in a chettinad restaurant is for my wife to answer..:P ) which my wife enjoyed a lot...since my tongue is made more for spicy dishes, dragon fish din't tickle my tongue that much...
The Chicken kothu parotta was very good, closest one can have to the original kothu parottas of the sub-urban tamilnadu... And the parottas, they serve with chicken curry / mutton curry, is one of the best around here....
we wound up with just these item since we were not in mood, but will surly visit this place often in the near future to try out their biriyanis, and meals..... I would say, this is the only place around annanage that offers good value for your money and service is one of the best one can think of in annanager....
