Unfortunately not a nice review, although not everything failed. The visit to Beštija was dry, with no pleasure in the whole experience, unprofessional service and staff who do not have basic knowledge of food presentation and wine recommendations. Upon entering the restaurant, we turned around and waited for the waiter to appear and direct us to a free table. From the menu, we chose tartare and roasted beets for starters, and agnolotte (pasta) and roasted duck for main courses. We waited half an hour for each dish, even though there were only two tables of guests - so more than a half-empty restaurant. Before appetizers, we chose beer and wine. When asked, what wine does he recommend with duck pie, black or white? The waiter brings me wine and asks me to try it, so if I don't like it, he will bring another one (?!). I taste the wine and - it's spoiled. The partner tried it and confirmed it. I refuse the wine without commenting that it is spoiled and the waiter brings another wine, this time of unquestionable quality. I was coldly shocked that a waiter could give a guest a ROCKED wine in a glass and ask him to try it if he liked it. If it goes, it goes?! Appetizers arrive - the roasted beets are fine, tender, the tartar is excellent, but not as shown in the bistro's advertising, with fewer side dishes and decorations. It looked sad, but it didn't lag behind in taste, in fact, it was great. Main dishes - agnolotti fine, but in terms of quantity and lightness of the dish more suitable for multi-course options. Duck - dried out, tough and simply not enough side dishes with the amount of meat. Here it is not a matter of cramming food, but harmony on the plate. Attached is a picture of how it is advertised, and what the reality is. Unfortunately, nothing like that. After lunch, the waiter approaches to collect the plates and when asked if everything was ok, I reply with a complaint that the duck was dry and tough, to which he says that it depends on the piece of meat and gets away with it. I comment that I have room for improvement. After all, we didn't even want to look at the dessert. For a bill of €86, we leave literally hungry and disappointed. The Beast has the vision, but not the execution. The story of a bistro must be such that a guest who takes only the main dish remains satisfied, but here he will only leave hungry. To emphasize, we often eat in restaurants and we are not people who come to restaurants to "stuff ourselves with food", but to leave hungry for this lova is disappointing.
