It was okay. The schnitzel was okay the mash was the best part of the meal. The Moscato was not nice and at $30 for a $9 bottle, it was also expensive. The decorations and cuckoo clocks were lovely. No... Just no. "Maybe you don't like German food?" (Staff member when advising it was inedible.). I love, love, LOVE it! This certainly wasn't it. Really, really wanted to enjoy Bohemian Euro Restaurant, as our local taste of Europe Restaurant. I see good reviews frequently. Visited twice with 2 years between. Both leaving no positive impression. Atmosphere was okay, it was quiet, but liked the old European interior, the flags, - began on a good note, and had been waiting for some time, building anticipation, driving past daily, waiting for the opportunity to go here (hoping our first visit was bad luck where my wife vowed not to return). The menu is pricey, ended up costing $110 for 2 person meal. Entree - Pretzels were very crusty, dry, not supplied with enough butter, and contained less than a pinch of salt. I LOVE German pretzels, but these aren't it. Main - Jagerschnitzel (pictured) should fill half the plate, it was smaller, and certainly thinner than my phone, it also tasted boiled, rather than having any crust, or contact with any hot plate. Spaetzel tasted like bland, watery tofu. Main - Pork Knuckle - the crackling, and fried onion was the redeeming factor of the review shooting from 1, to 2 stars, as they were edible (still short of anything memorable) but again, the meat inside was bland and tasted of nothing but water. Beers - Shandy was bitter, mango beer was okay - but certainly not as memorable as any tasted in Germany, which were to die for. I left so disappointed, I don't know if we've had two bad nights, given the stellar reviews. I absolutely adore German food; nothing tops a well executed small family-oriented German restaurant. The one that unfortunately closed in Penrith during COVID did many things much better. I can appreciate staff were dressed accordingly and wearing masks still, post COVID was an added bonus I can appreciate from health/safety. But the food was just so, so bad - the menu explicitly calling out no exchange or refunds, may have been a warning flag. We left our mains (and I very rarely do not finish my plate 100%) for Woolworths across the road to buy dinner to make back at home - stomachs, and wallets empty; vowing not to return to be stung a third time.
