After recently living in the French Quarter of New Orleans with locals from Halloween to Mardi Gras, I can attest that this is not authentic. It looks good, it is safe to eat, but the flavors aren't right, it's moreso bland, and overpriced. I was excited to come here as I miss the food in New Orleans, but after trying a few menu items I am left feeling disappointed and jipped. I am sure there is another more authentic restaurant nearby, but this is not the one. Mediocre, bland, and overpriced. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We visited off of a recommendation from a friend and it didn't disappoint! The bananas foster was fantastic. The cheese grits, plain beignets, and french toast were plentiful. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Bananas Foster French Toast, Cheese Grits

Brenda's French soul food is a great authentic southern restaurant! Everything we had was really good and the restaurant has warm southern feel. I got a flight of beignets and they were all really delicious and they were much bigger than I expected. I really liked the chocolate and crawfish. The New Orleans pasta was seasoned beautifully and there was a ton of flavor in that dish. Parking is a little tricky in this part of San Francisco but there is street parking around it if you can find an open spot or some parking garages and lots within a half a mile. Our service was excellent and they had live music that was a nice touch. I wouldn't have thought that the most reviewed restaurant in San Francisco is southern cuisine, but I do think that this restaurant lives up to the hype and would definitely go back!
