To start off, the service here was a 10/10. The owner is so kind, gave me a free drink while waiting for my order. I waited around 10-15 mins on a Friday at around 4:15pm... and the food came out so fresh! I ordered the kahaku-style garlic butter shrimp, which came with purple rice topped off with furikake & subbed the greens with the mac salad. The shrimp was perfectly crispy & buttery. It paired so well with the soft chewy purple rice & mac salad. The portion is HUGE. I ate some of my food there and I took 75% of it home as leftovers The workers going above & beyond + the delicious food makes me rate this place 5 stars. The only con I would give this place is the parking situation. Luckily, I found parking right in the front. I will be back very soon!

Broken Mouth lives up to all the hype we heard about it. We'd read about it online and seen some videos (not to mention my best friend had told us repeatedly how delicious it was), so there was no way we weren't going to try it. A delicious blend of Hawaiian and Korean foods, everything here hits the mark. It was hard to settle on what to order because we wanted to try it all. Their Hawaii's Meat Jun Plate was my big winner - the meat was so tender and flavorful and paired perfectly with the potato-mac salad. The Teri Chicken Sandwich and Spam Musubi were both delicious as well. They're in a little food court-type area, and there were plenty of seating options to enjoy (though I would imagine it would get full during peak hours). We were also told they allow dogs in here, so that's always a plus! They make all their food fresh to order, so while it wasn't too busy, we waited about 20 minutes for our food - well-worth the wait. We had met the owner Timothy (super kind!), and he actually gave us some POG juice to enjoy while we waited. They do recommend ordering ahead if you can. Parking is the rough part as is visiting anywhere in DTLA. They have metered parking and paid lots around the area. They also do Door Dash, so that's an easy way to get your food if you don't want to deal with parking. Overall, a fantastic eating experience with incredible food. Highly recommend stopping by.

I was already in LA looking for a place nearby for dinner and I looked at my bookmarks for something nearby. Broken Mouth Lee's Homestyle came up within my radius. It was a good walking distance from the metro station. It was pretty far but the outstanding amount of consistently positive reviews convinced us to keep walking, despite seeing other notable restaurants along the way. The walk was very sketch... I don't recommend walking around the area if there was an alternative. The restaurant was located in a small foodhall with 3 other businesses. They shared a small dining area with few small tables and one large community table. I disliked how inconsiderate pet owners let their pets lick and slobber over everything. I was wiping my seating area and my wet wipe was complete black. Umm, if you like Broken Mouth, I recommend it to go. Anyways the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They thanks us for visiting. Definitely above and beyond niceness. My boyfriend had their Teri Chicken Plate ($18) and I had the famous Shrimp Plate ($18) and added a sunny side up egg ($1.75). Food took a while to came out, in which they were apologetic, and potentially rushed. I am emphasizing this rushness because there was a lot of burnt bits on the chicken AND the plastic of the lid melted onto the top layer of the chicken. The portion was generous but that top half and all the burnt pieces are a health hazard and inedible. My shrimp was okay. I liked how garlicy it was and the purple rice was appreciated. Buttttttt... I don't get the hype. It's not that great. I feel like I'm being generous with this rating cause the service was friendly but I did not have a great experience. Definitely not worth the walk and dangers getting here.
