Just a hole in the wall sandwich joint that had a line out of the door. Ordered the turkey and pastrami with everything. Enough to feed 2. Meat piled high. Bread was fresh. Large selection of sides and chips. Well worth going too.

Had to drop off my parents at their cruise dock and decided that this would be a great opportunity to finally explore a local landmark and maybe a new restaurant in the area. I literally never come out to the South Bay. I did a little Googling and discovered Busy Bee Market. It seemed popular enough and has definitely been around for quite some time, so it sounded promising. As countless others have said, their sandwiches here are absolute units. My wife and I shared a hot Belly Buster sandwich, which comes with two choices of meat. I was really feeling a meatball sub and chose pastrami to go along with it. At first my wife and I made a futile attempt to tackle this behemoth in the car, but it was clearly not something you can just scarf down cleanly. This type of sandwich requires you to get down and messy. Have a lot of paper towel on stand-by, a large surface, and a trash can. Maybe even a makeshift bib or a shirt you don't care about if it gets dirty. Personally I hate taking food to-go, especially for something like a hot sandwich. We got home 35-40 minutes later and toasted it a bit and finally got to take down the beast the way it was meant to be eaten. There isn't exactly anything wrong with the sandwich, but it certainly did not live up to its reputation. It's massive, sure, but nothing about it really stood out. I felt like I was eating a typical meatball marinara sub and had pastrami as an afterthought. The bread was average as well. Actually, I think I made a better meatball sub back when I used to work at Jersey Mike's. I know people rave about this place a lot and I genuinely feel like there's potential here. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, so if/when I find myself back in San Pedro, I'm gonna go the cold sub route and see if it'll change my mind about the place. To end things on a slightly more positive note, the market itself is a cool little old school convenience store. Lots of sodas and chips to choose from if you want some ~*accouterments*~ to pair your sandwich with. Cash only.
