11/11/24. I stopped in to order takeout for Szechuan beef. I asked for it to be extra spicy with extra onions but no baby corn or mushrooms and spicy rice too. . I get home and there’s barely 4 skimpy pieces of beef in it and absolutely no spice AT ALL! The container was 85% rice and the 4 pieces of meat and vegetables were on top. However, I did get extra onions like a pile of them on top.. in addition to the rice not being spicy at all it had absolutely no flavor. What a huge disappointment. I called to voice my concerns and he completely basically sat silent on the phone and I kept repeating myself. “Do you understand me?” He gave no apologies.. nothing. Simply said “that’s the way it is.”
Well, if that’s the way it is, I will never go back there again. I’ve never had a bad experience there but this was enough to turn me away especially after his attitude. So beware. What are we supposed to do? Open the container while we’re there in front of them and see how much protein is added. Just ridiculous!

I ordered take out by phone. It was a bit difficult to order over the phone because I couldn't really understand the man who answered. I don't know if it's the same owners as when we used to eat there many years ago when they had "dine-in". When we pulled in the parking lot, it looked like it might be closed, not other cars when we parked. Lots of cob webs on front windows and dirty looking. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, medium spicey, with white rice which was my favorite when we used to dine there. I wanted one egg roll but I ended up with 2 different kinds when I looked at my order when I got home (of course was charged for 2). The dinner portion was huge and it was good (I easily had enough for 2 dinners), sans those little corn cobs which I hate and threw out. The shrimp egg roll was good, what the other one was I don't know... just tasted like paste inside the egg roll. I can't say I wouldn't order there ever again, but I'll probably try some place else next time just to try a different place. Usually pretty pleased with China Queen, and it wasn’t all bad, but the fried rice I received seemed as if it had been reheated from leftovers. The veggies were dried out and the pork was dark brownish/gray. It wasn’t as good as it usually is from here. My kids won’t eat it and they usually love it. Meal type: Dinner Food: 3 Service: 5
