Clandestino is a sister restaurant to the popular Tac/Quila with a similar menu but perhaps not exactly the same. My rating would be 4.5 rounded up due to very good / efficient service. It has a large outdoor seating area with a bar and perhaps some indoor tables - i didn't go in there. It was busy on a Monday but we got on the wait list and were contacted within 45 mins for our table. We started with the fried squash blossoms which were good but quite cheesy - stuffed with cheese and deep fried. Hard to mess up. I also ordered chips and salsa with quac which was good. When the mains arrived it was apparent that we over ordered. Our waitress who was excellent had TRIED to warn me we didn't need the chips and that we had ordered enough but I of course didn't believe the expert who worked there. My wife ordered the Cochinita Pibil which was delicious. One of the best versions of the dish we ever had. I had the shrimp enchiladas which were satisfying. Perhaps didn't blow my mind or anything but are a good choice if you like enchiladas. They were stuffed with perfectly cooked shrimp and covered with a very spicy sauce. We had so much food that we took home most of the Cochinita and half the quac and were too full for dessert. Service was really friendly and efficient - tasty food: would definitely return.

Found a new must-visit restaurant while in Palm Springs on our trip there last week. In a nutshell, it was PHENOMENAL. If you love Tac/Quila, you'll love Clandestino. Menu is very similar, with only a few differences, but the setting is more intimate and has an incredible view of the Marilyn statue downtown. Cocktails were excellent, food was equally impressive, and service was top-notch. We started with the crab cakes (small but yummy), I tried the salmon entrée with the slaw (fantastic) and my husband had the cochinita pibil, which he said was delicious. Ambiance is really cute and would be great for a date night or a fun dinner out with friends. Highly recommend the Felipe Orlando and Mezcalita cocktails. Both were almost too beautiful to drink. Can't wait to go back and try more things!

Completely charming. We're huge fans of the sister establishments, (Farm, Tac/Quila), so were very anxious to try Clandestino. We were not disappointed. The delicious menu seems very similar to the one at Tac/Quila . . . upscale, unique, modern and flavorful Mexican fare . . . but the place has the advantage that they accept reservations. Clandestino is actually quite small. (They are the first occupants of a new building, built as part of the refurbished downtown, and are on the "back side" of Palm Canyon Drive). Most of the seating is outdoors, with a wonderful view of the new Palm Springs park and the Marilyn statue. The décor is very polished, nice, warm and welcoming. Service is friendly, attentive and prompt. Good food. Good Service. Lovely décor. A nice view. What more could you ask? We really enjoyed outselves. Now, if I could just remember the name or read the difficult-to-make-out restaurant sign!
