Ordered a takeaway from here and received a dish what I can only describe as soup vegetables (peas, potatoes, broccoli, carrots) in a clove flavoured gravy, it was absolutely vile and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. We also ordered fish, vegetable and chicken pakora and there wasn’t any obvious way to tell any of these apart, the chicken pakora also had veg in it which was confusing. The only thing that was half decent about the meal we received was the fact that it was hot when it arrived. Vegetarian options: Not pleasant and not clear which dishes are vegetarian or not as they weren’t labelled and visually identical. If you want to enjoy some delicious Mother India's food at home get yourself along to Dining In with Mother India! The food is the same high quality you'd get in the restaurants and there's a good variety of starters, mains, side dishes and sundries to take away and heat at home. On Saturday, we picked ourselves up a tasty meal of aloo saag dosas, veg pakora, tarka dal, mixed veg curry, aloo saag, South Indian garlic chilli chicken, rice and roti. Phew! It's difficult to stop adding more items when you're surrounded by so many tempting options! For under £30, three of us ate very well (and I had enough left over for Sunday's dinner too!). The tarka dal was just as good as I've had previously in the restaurant and the mixed veg curry was lovely with big chunks of potato, courgette, cauliflower, carrot and peas. The veggie dishes come in a smaller size and are classed as side dishes but don't be fooled - one of these is plenty and the main dish size could easily be shared between two. There's a meal deal for two available - £9.50 for 2 chicken dishes (smaller size), rice, naan, veggie side dish and salad.
