This is a very small bagel shop, with not much room to dine-in, let alone stand around (unless you're in line), but I loved how fresh the bagels were here!! My friend and I ordered an everything bagel and a blueberry bagel. Both were fantastic, fresh, and more doughey than the ones we had at St-Viateur Bagel. The blueberry bagel had small bits of blueberry, but it wasn't a very sweet bagel, so I really liked that great balance and not trying to be too dessert-y. Loved the flavor of the everything bagel. And, echoing others on how the prices are very fair here.

To start, I'm not an expert on the bagel but I do know what I like, and I did not like these bagels. I got there around 8:30 pm and was surprised they were still open and busy. I purchased three bagels (a cinnamon raisin, plain, and a fresh out of the oven sesame seed). I ate the fresh one immediately and was really not feeling it. The other two I had the next morning and those too just weren't doing it for me. They were dry and got hard way too quickly. I can't even describe the flavors other than the cinnamon raisin one neither tasting like cinnamon nor raisins. I did eat all three bagels without schmear or butter so that may be a contributing factor but if a bagel is good, it should easily stand on it's own.

Had to try out the legendary Fairmount Bagel when in Montreal, given I'm a native New Yorker raised on old school bagels (only savory) and onion bialys. Enjoyed many times Myer's Montreal-style Bagels in Burlington, VT, so Fairmount was a destination on my bucket list. Ordered a Pumpernickle, which was lighter than what you find in a New York Pumpernickel, and a Cumin. Fairmount's sweeter bagel bread and almost fluffy texture inside made for a real disappointment. That being said, I've had a lot worse over the years... including bagels that would qualify as Wonder Bagels. Maybe if you're raised on Fairmount bagels, your expectations are different.
