Staff was great and knowledgeable. Food was outstanding. Manager can to talk, not a 15 second fly-by of how is everything. And a vet! Highly recommend. Within 3 blocks of the Grand Bohemian Hotel Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I went on the last day of operations after 70 plus years. So many people were there for the send off, I had to wait over an hour to be served, enjoyed every second of it. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10

In town to pick up a little something and figured to drop by and get my likes in while likes could be got. Green's Lunch has been a Charlotte institution for almost a century but times and tastes change; diners come and diners go and we are all a little less for it... pulled up about a quarter after daylight to a sea of empty parking spots :-) saw no activity inside until well after the advertised start of business - no explanation was offered so breakfast was just late :-(... (kinda my own fault for violating the 0th law of traveling for food (just don't) but I was still a bit put off.) I decided on a stack o' cakes, 2 eggs scrambled soft, no meats, toast and coffee. found an odd and annoyingly low-slung seat at the counter and filled out a few postcards waiting on breakfast... everything came out as expected within reason: cakes is huge and light and fluffy and would do well with a double dose of syrup, eggs is soft and moist and respond well to hot sauce, toast is as ordered: dry and warm as late spring in Phoenix. washed it all down with black coffee and I set off to finish my rounds. not a fan of styro-plates and plastic ware but it's the sad reality of small space fooding. all in all a filling if not entirely satisfying meal (but that's as much on my cardiologist as anyone at this point) and keep in mind that this is Green's Lunch, not Green's Breakfast...
