Some 270+ km, 3.5+ hours drive .... so it's a long way from the most livable city in the world, Melbourne not Vancouver. A serious feat for a steak but once you've made the trip, you'll be addicted to it.
Very small country town, population of 500+,if you blinked, you'll missed it.
One prominent Art Deco building in town, that is the Gunbower hotel, built in 1941, renovated and extended, but keeping most of it's features, just a serene ambiance.
A local hangout, this Country Pub is where most of the actions of this town. It is also the best feature of this building.
VERY reasonably priced, not much fanfare on the Menu and presentation, but they'll beat any steak restaurants in Melbourne at nearly half their prices. GREAT steaks without the frills nor good looking hostesses to entice you.
Publican owner Richard and his late wife owned and operates the establishment. Paddock to Palate at its best, Richard grazed his cattle, butchered, supplied and cooked those steaks with some help from his kitchen hand.
Richard is a true businessman, got a few arrows in his canister. First time I've met him, he was thinking of bringing a Chinese chef and add Chinese food to his Menu, I love that idea; Cantonese food in a country town.

a minute later someone else changes their order and I ask why I can't: "Oh because they're regulars!"
So unless you're a regular expect to be treated like a lepper! The plastic trestle tables add a real Sunday market feel too
