Decent rice bowls but pricey for the portion. The wagyu bowl was simple and had very thin slices of meat ($25) we paid an extra $10 for 5 slices which was very disappointing - they were offcuts (not the same quality and size as the main dish pieces) and served separately in a tiny side dish plate. The unagi bowl was more flavourful ($29) and had a light broth to pour over. Service is a little slow and could be more friendly. Limited daily specials were sold out by the time we arrived which was 10min after opening. Portions are on the small side. Presentation of bowls was nice. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

One of my favourite Japanese places in Sydney. It is a small menu but all dishes and drinks are made really well. I have never left this place disappointed. I would recommend trying the Wagyu, Tonkatsu or Hainan chicken and the desserts. Juan Bowl & Tea takes you away from the hustle and bustle to a space of calm and tranquility. Their menu is carefully designed and their dishes are are excellent showcase of natural flavours and enhancers. Their signature wagyu bowl was as good as it gets, I just wish that it was larger! The unagi dish blended so well and I enjoyed the two ways the dish could be enjoyed, something not practiced enough in western cuisine. The lemon tea was perfectly balanced and finally the matcha dessert was the perfect finisher. Tick this off your bucket list folks!
