I guess this is more about my personal taste, since obviously this place is popular. If you love traditional japanese food like me, stick to the raw sashimi. We ordered the popular Emperor's signature roll and chirashi bowl. They put tobiko on top of slice jalapeno on the roll. Totally kill the mild flavor that I love about tobiko. The yuzu sauce is good but also kill the sushi flavor. I think fusion is not for me. The chirashi bowl was okay, standard. I may come back for other dishes. At Japonessa Sushi Cocina the service was fantastic and the seating was comfortable, I just wish I'd liked the food more. Both of my veggie rolls were straight up average but the miso soup was below average, even though it was nice and warm on a cold day. I'm not sure if it was from the fish stock they used, but it just tasted off. The hot tea was quite good, but it's always a pet peeve of mine when the cups can't be held when they have hot tea. Just a minor thing that really makes enjoying the meal difficult. All in all, the food at Japonessa Sushi Cocina wasn't for me but the experience itself wasn't too bad.
