We had a buffet, for €70 per person we expected much better: there was very little choice and most of it was fried or simply had too much vinegar added, so the quality didn't seem particularly high. Unfortunately we left hungry and disappointed again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

I booked a Candilelight dinner at Karl's as a special surprise for my boyfriend's birthday on March 1st, 2024. It should be a very special evening with candlelight in a harmonious atmosphere. We were escorted to a table that was tastelessly and very drearily decorated, the only thing that seemed romantic was the single red rose. The seats for us were not set in the middle of the table, so we had to sit at the edge and the chairs next to us were empty. The table was right next to the passage where guests constantly had to pass us. The food was well presented on the plates and tasty. The waiter always asked if he should wait for the next course, he was courteous. It was a very big disappointment. Very unfortunate. Things have to get better with Karl. You should have read all the reviews beforehand then I would have been spared the disappointment. Food: 4 Service: 3

My husband and I were overnight guests at the Best Western in February 2024 and also guests at the Karl Restaurant for one evening. Unfortunately the visit left us quite disappointed. I ordered a cream soup, a salad with feta and olives and an apple spritzer. Unfortunately the soup was cold. After my complaint I was given a warm soup (although without the accompanying bread). When the salad came, I noticed that there were no olives and the sauce was extremely spicy (I could only eat half of the salad). There wasn't a waitress anywhere in sight and since I didn't want to eat alone, as was the case with the soup, we didn't mention this until we were paying. Then I was surprised at the price of the apple spritzer, which was €5.20 on the bill. You definitely couldn't tell from the drinks menu, I also took a photo of it. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Nevertheless, I was surprised that all complaints were simply “smiled away”. My complaint by email to the restaurant and the Best Western reception was also responded to in a friendly manner after a week, but nothing more. We're not talking about a fast food restaurant here and I can certainly overlook it if something goes wrong, but everything here was really poor. I was really very annoyed about it. Once and never again.
