Kiyo Japanese Cuisine is a small sushi restaurant located on Bathurst. The restaurant was busy with full tables and a steady stream of UberEats orders and pickups during our visit. A nice choice for the area for sushi! The menu covered most standard categories of appetizers, maki/handrolls, special rolls, and entrees and offered a decent don (rice bowl) selection. We ordered the Maki Set A, Vegetable Tempura, and salmon and avocado roll. The tempura was good, with a light tempura sauce and various vegetables including taro, carrot, zucchini, broccoli, and yam. However, the oil used for frying did not feel as fresh as other tempura restaurants. The Maki Set A had small pieces and small portions but was tasty. The service was efficient, with 2 sushi chefs and 2 waitresses attending to the dine-in and take-out customers. The restaurant is fairly tiny with 6 tables of 4 people each. Due to how small this place is, there were some logistical issues if other customers did not leave before the reservation. We reserved for 7pm but were fully seated for a group of 10 by 7:25pm as tables were added when other customers finished their meals. Note: The closest bus stop is Nina Street to get off via the Bathurst TTC bus. Parking: No street parking along Bathurst Street, there is a Green P Parking near Bathurst and St. Clair West.
