Absolutely UNBELIEVABLY good food. In our short time in Halifax, it was so good that we tried it once and made sure to drive all the way back to have it one more time before we left. The oxtail - best ive ever had. Simply melting off the bone, and sooo rich and tender. The jollof rice had a nice building spice to it, and the pumpkin seed and spinach had such a unique flavour. Everything was so flavorful and delicious and went together perfectly. Great portions too. Overall, it felt made with love. We are from Edmonton, and there really isn't anything that can compare. I'm going to be dreaming of this place often when I'm back home Hope to come back to Halifax again - this will certainly be our first stop! Price per person: CA$20–30

While visiting Halifax for an overnight trip with friends, we decided to finally tick this spot off our bucket list, and I’m so glad we did! I’ve been curious about this restaurant for a long time, especially the fufu, and it exceeded every expectation. Since there were four of us, we wanted to experience as much variety as possible. Mary herself took care of us, preparing an incredible spread of dishes for the table to share. We sampled: *Two types of seasoned rice *Every single vegetable side *Chicken, lamb, and succulent goat Everything was absolutely delicious. I’m still salivating thinking about those distinct, vibrant flavors! My only regret is that I didn't visit sooner. If you’re in Halifax, do yourself a favor and don’t wait as long as I did to try this gem. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Almost everything on the menu is gluten free.

Great food. The vegetarian platter was really good, and the chicken soup was worth the extra wait. Would visit again but for takeout, the restaurant was very warm and extremely noisy. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
