Extremely delicious food. We got take out and picking up I was able to appreciate the sleek and comfy vibes of the location. We order the Korean Fried Chikkin Skewers and they were rich in flavor and tender to the bite. I was shocked as a Mexicano that the steak tacos would be as rich in flavor as the skewers yet a completely different cultural flavor. Finally the pepper steak caesar salad was no less tasty. It was a refreshing veggie option. As someone that is seeks out plant based protein this place is a must. And their sauces, just wow, absolutely hit the spot with culinary magic. Food: 5

MeeT in Gastown is a vegan restaurant. You need to know this going in. For some reason, after exploring their website and menu, it wasn't clear to me. Yes, the "ma-and-pa-and-the kids" story, as always, suckers me in. So did--as they also usually do--the buzz words like: "healthy," "veggie(s)," "organic," and "gluten-free options." But, after several bites of their "MeeT Burger" (which should say Meet your "Vegan" Burger), I drowned it in a sea of ketchup & mustard in hopes that a lifesaver of flavor and moister could wash it up onto the sands of my palate. It wasn't until I asked the waitress if I had ordered the right burger. It was at that point she awkwardly mentioned, "it, and all the dishes, were vegan." Full disclosure--I'm not vegan; yet, I am open open-minded, willing to experiment and experience new and newer things, and not afraid to be a chef's lab rat. This is where the rating comes in. One, especially if not vegan, or even vegetarian, should try the place. It's a gateway for self-proclaimed backyard BBQ Men with wood, charcoal, and/or propane to "MeeT" (and not "MEAT") in Gastown and try new things. After Enola Holmes brought the evidence necessary to clue me in, the mystery was solved, and this case was closed with a bit of an internal laugh. What I learned is to appreciate the experience and really that, for me, adds a star. The restaurant is in, for lack of better terms, the belly of a side alley. It has as much character as such. It's made the most of its space. The young staff was friendly, alert, and rather happy-go-lucky. The prices on the rather slimmed-down menu were balanced between capitalism and the conscience of patrons' purses. I'm told this is a Vegan's heaven. As a sinner that will eat everything, everywhere, this is a good place to eat with the saints and say a prayer on behalf of the cow I unknowingly saved, at least for the time being. If that walking Whopper could read and write, it would write you and probably thank you kindly for reading this review.
