Was there last night and ordered takeaway. What I got was a disgrace and something I've never experienced before. I got 4 portions of chicken skewers and 2 Turkish pizzas. The meat on the Turkish pizza looked like leftover meat mashed together. I don't know what that was supposed to be, but it definitely wasn't minced meat. A really disgusting, sticky, colorless mass. It stank and my wife felt sick just by looking at this dish. Some of the chicken skewers were still raw on the inside. The only thing you could eat was the salad and the fries. The rest ended up in the trash. Since I come from out of town and it wasn't worth it for me to complain on site and show you these thrown-out, disgusting dishes. Really the very last one! I have never had food anywhere that was so bad it was inedible! Service: Take out Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

There are many Turkish eateries in Germany, but few Kurdish/Turkish restaurants - this one is among the best we have experienced. Sure, some of the staff is a little hurried and have little time for friendly chatter, but the owners are very friendly and extremely attentive to the customer needs. The food... well, we don't give 5 stars easily - and we travel a lot. Whether in Washington, Miami or SanFran, this is as close as it comes to the best food in Izmir or Erbil. Those who read and visited the souk in the citadel know what I am talking about. Inside Mem û Zîn is nicely decorated and offers a cozy environment. So, don't let the busy street dissuade you from visiting this place. Best of all, it all comes in a nice package -- great tasting food served by efficient servers in romantic place owned by super friendly family. Get in there!
