I recently had the pleasure of dining at Opa Opa Taverna in Myrtle Beach, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in a bustling center on the North end of Myrtle Beach, the abundance of convenient parking made my visit a breeze. As I stepped into the spacious, beautifully inviting open space with high ceilings, I was struck by the impeccable cleanliness and inviting ambiance. To the left, a delightful bakery greeted me, hinting at the culinary delights awaiting. The open kitchen showcased the magic happening behind the scenes, with all the food prepared right before your eyes, boasting authenticity and made in-house expertise. The extensive array of scratch-made items truly impressed me - a testament to their dedication to quality and taste. During my multiple visits over the last few days, every meal I indulged in exceeded expectations. The gyro was a standout, accentuated by the divine tzatziki sauce. The vegetarian selection was a delightful ensemble of vibrant salads and unforgettable Russian beets, a true culinary masterpiece. Their Angus burger, earning a spot on the best burger list, was a succulent treat, and the Greek version was a unique twist that I thoroughly enjoyed. The menu offers a fantastic variety of sides and Mediterranean dishes, showcasing the diversity of flavors and options available. And let's not forget the in-house bakery and desserts - the Mediterranean and Greek sweets were nothing short of phenomenal. What truly enhanced my experience was the warm, familial atmosphere. The owner and family were personally involved, from taking orders to preparing the food, making me feel like a part of their extended family. Spotlessly clean and incredibly welcoming, Opa Opa Taverna is more than a restaurant; it's an inviting gathering place where you're treated like family and friends, even on your very first visit. I cannot say enough about the friendly staff and tasty food at Opa Opa Taverna! I've enjoyed the gyros, salads, and desserts (the carrot cake is amazing). The restaurant and restrooms were spotless every time I've been there (23 times since the place opened). 10 stars!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food is fabulous! Truly is and I am not prone to hyperbole when it comes to food. I love Greek food, and Opa Opa Taverna exceeded my expectations. I have tried the gyro, kabob platter, cheesecake and one of my favorite desserts, galaktoboureko. All was flavorful, authentic and plentiful. The portions are huge, definitely enough for 2 meals for me. I did finish the galaktoboureko, custard pie with phyllo dough and honey in one evening lol. The restaurant is in a easy to get too location with plenty of parking. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They all speak Greek so I get to practice some of my Greek again. So excited a really authentic and great Greek restaurant is in Myrtle Beach.
