I went in to Spiga Bakery in bellmore to get several items this morning on Sept 26, 2023 . I was helped by an older women wearing glasses who thought it was normal to wear the same gloves while handling money, the register screen and then food items. This older women with glasses decided she would stick her hand in the cookies and begin filling up my box with them. After purchasing close to $60.00 worth of stuff I asked for a refund. The older lady with glasses said “oh sorry I thought I changed my gloves” Prior to helping me she hadn’t changed her gloves. Other customers were given food items that were touched with money. Never once did she change her gloves. Can you imagine how filthy money is and you are sticking your hand in cookies with that same hand you use to count money and serve it to customers! Upon speaking to a young girl who was working with this older lady I asked what the managers name was she looked at me cluelessly and said “uhhhh I don’t know” you work at a bakery but don’t know your supervisors name? I hope the manager or owner(s) read this. I plan on filing a complaint with Nassau county board of health. Service: 1
