On two separate visits a simple bar order was delivered incorrectly and had to be corrected, much to the annoyance of the member of staff serving us (the same one on both occasions). This in itself would be excusable, but coupled with the filthy cutlery (see photo) means we won't be returning.

Lovely cosy little pub/cafe with warm fireplaces inside and outdoor seating right next to the canal to watch the barges come and go. We didn't have food but there were omelettes and such like available, plus cakes and pastries. We only stopped for drinks and enjoyed our visit. The bar is well stocked and hot drinks are available.

Cheap, cheerful, cosy and charming sum this place up for me. Located right on the canal with plenty of outdoor seating this is a good spot to relax with a cold cider in the summer and on the inside you'll be greeted by a range of mismatched furniture and fittings (prepare for a wobbly table) with a variety of fireplaces dotted around to keep you warm. They have a load of old school homemade food, always a cottage pie and a baked potato for you, which is reasonably priced and reasonable quality for it, don't expect the world though. Oh and if you are in need of breakfast in the afternoon they serve it all day here for £5. Staff are fine, they'll get your food and drink to you in a decent amount of time but they won't become your best friend. There's a pretty good drinks selection as well, lots of real ale on tap.
