I was sitting with my back up against the curtain wall, which kept having my chair bumped as people went to the bathroom. This was incredibly frustrating, as I nearly spilled my drink. We had the steep climb, bogdaddy, twisted by nature and impermanence. The bogdaddy tasted strongly of anise. Otherwise, all the drinks were great.

Hate to write this review, because i love the ambiance and allure of this place. But I purchased tickets for the NYE party at The Violet Hour in mid-December. On 12/28, i called to cancel because of sickness. I figured i would ask if i could get a refund, even though i thought it was a low chance. To my surprise, the employee said “yes, you’re canceling before our 48 hour cut-off so you won’t be charged.” I called back the next evening to double confirm, because i had actually pre-paid and the previous person may have misspoke. This time a man answered, and he also confirmed they were working on my refund. Cool. A week and a half goes by; i call back the week of 1/8 to check on the refund. I was asked to leave my name and number and a manager would call me back within an hour. This did not happen. I called back again that week, talked to a manager who said they’d check on it. Nothing happened. I called back again the week of 1/15, this time the manager said they would contact the GM, who would issue the refund. We are now two weeks past that call, and i have never been contacted by anyone from this establishment. Here’s the thing: i would have left all of this alone if i wasn’t told i would receive a refund. I was actually expecting them to tell me all sales were final for the event, but TWO employees confirmed a refund for me. So if this is how they give customers the (exhausting) runaround, i cannot in good faith recommend this establishment to anyone. Decent drinks though. Edit: the issue was resolved, amicably. Again, i do love this place for the ambiance and drinks. I appreciate that someone reached out to make it right. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
