Petit Verdot (Gila). This is my absolute favorite red. This is the sort of place that you enter as friends and leave as family. Where you only tell your closest friends about it because you never want the vibe to change. From their crispy whites to smooth warm reds you will not be disappointed. It is the epitome of what Virginia grapes have to offer. #texasapproved

I LOVE this winery - easily one of my favorites in Northern VA. The owner, Jon is so incredibly friendly and attentive. Each time I've visited, he's greeted me almost as soon as I got out of my car, and the most recent trip I made here, he saw I had my dog with me and brought out a bowl of water for her. Jon alone is enough of a reason to venture out to The Wine Reserve at Waterford, but if you don't have the pleasure of seeing him on your visit, you'll definitely get to take in the stunning views from the porch and lawn, and enjoy a glass of their delicious wine. I highly recommend First Harvest for a light, smooth white - it's perfect for summer and not too sweet. I also love the sparkling rose. I don't typically enjoy rose, but I really enjoy their sparkling rose - the bubbles are light and not too fizzy, and the rose isn't too sweet.
