If you've got a sushi craving you just can't shake, then look no further cause Tokyo Joe's got you covered. Support this local business! For what it is, this place has pretty much everything you could expect of a simple sushi joint. Operated by a full staff of friendly Koreans, Tokyo Joe offers a wide variety of the tried and true Japanese dishes at an affordable price and with decent quality. Some of the items I've ordered in the past: Crazy Roll - very good, tasty Red Dynamite Roll - good portion size Tuna and Salmon Combo - very good value, large nigiri sushi, good quality salmon Maki Combo A - good value, large portions One of the things that immediately stood out to me about Tokyo Joe's sushi was the portion sizes for the items I ordered. For all four items above, I paid about $50.00 including taxes and tips. For feeding two or three people, that's not bad at all! The nigiri sushi sizes were almost on par with what you'd find at Samurai Sushi or Banzai Sushi - they were extraordinarily larger than normal. Also, the Red Dynamite Roll pieces were so large they could barely fit in my mouth. Portions aside, it only took them 15 minutes to prepare my order! None of my rolls fell apart while eating so that's a testament to how Tokyo Joe works with speed, but doesn't sacrifice presentation. If I could give half-stars, my real review would be to give 4.5 stars to Tokyo Joe. For me, the tuna in the sushi I ordered were too fishy-tasting. I also want to point out that, while I was ordering for pick-up over the phone, the server answering my call hung up the phone near the end of our conversation before I was finished speaking, probably because she thought I wasn't going to add any more comments after stating my order. I thought it was a tiny bit rude, but I'm sure she didn't mean it so I can let it slide. In person, service was friendly and on-point! Overall, a great place to get sushi in Richmond if you're on a budget. Plenty of parking in the back btw!
