I enjoy the food, staff, tea and deserts. I live in Kailua but when downtown Honolulu at lunch time it is my fav restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Combo Plate

Just popped in here for lunch while on a walk and omg! I’ve found it tougher to find good vegetarian food here. This place was amazing and gives you so much food for the price. What a hidden gem! I am not a vegetarian but eating at Water Drop Vegetarian House makes me want to be vegetarian, I am addicted to the food here at Water Drop!! I always wanted to stop here after hearing and reading about Water Drop, the reason is that the hours of operation and I work all out on the east side, didn't work out for me. Until that one day when I stopped at the HGEA office and walked over to get take out, I totally fell in love with the food (except for the Jai). My dad is a true vegetarian so I told myself that I must bring my dad here. I've been back many times since my first visit. I brought my dad during my Winter break from work and I was right, he loved his lunch and I could tell that he was happy to be at Water Drop. I also brought my mom here on a separate visit and I must make a stop here whenever I have morning Dr. appointments or have to stop at HGEA. I truly enjoy each and every meal at Water Drop. Water Drop is located at the corner of Alakea St. If you work in the area, it is very convenient to walk over, but if you have to look for parking, like I do, there is no parking available just street/meter parking near by. I usually park near the post office, feed the meter and walk over. It is about a 5 minute walk to Water Drop. I wish Water Drop would open on weekends and close later, hours of operation are Mon-Friday from 11-2 pm. I believe Water Drop observe all holidays. Be prepared for the lunch hour rush, I remember my last visit, I arrived at 11:45 am and there was a long line in front and back of me. I can see that vegetarian food and Water Drop is very popular. Tips, Best to check Water Drop's face book page for the daily specials and items, they are very up to date with social media. There are pictures of that days menu items. Don't forget to grab complimentary house special tea, it is so refreshing and good! I usually get the 2 item entree or sometimes 3 entree which my 3rd item is the bean curd roll or spring rolls if they are available. My faves are the long rice noodles and special rice with the edamame. All the entrees that I get are very tasty except for the Jai. I must admit that I've had better Jai then at Water Drop. I skip getting the Jai as my one of my choices. After your meal, check out the back of Water Drop and head upstairs to pay the temple a visit. There are some vegetarian grocery items near the entrance and look for $1.00 fruit bags, which is a bargain if they are available. All in all, give Water Drop a try, totally recommend, Vegetarian food is really not so bad after all, made me addicted after my very first visit. I can't wait to be back again for more!!
