We came here for dinner last night and honestly I'm not sure how to feel about it. We had a cocktail first, which was nice - followed by garlic bread and mozzarella arancini for starters, both were okay but not mind-blowing. Our mains were delicious, lasagne and spaghetti carbonara (they didn't have bolognese) but the desserts very underwhelming. We went for the tiramisu-brownie which sadly wasn't nice at all (if you've seen my reviews pop up before you'll know I love a tiramisu, so this was gutting). Service was very slow and our waiter quite stand offish. All in all, very mixed. I personally wouldn't come back, but if you're looking for Italian food it might be for you.

The building is beautiful and the food is excellent, but the service is extraordinary bad. Over the course of one meal, my wife and I had a very difficult experience involving four different waiters. Our first waiter took our drink orders and disappeared. It was taking a really long time and the restaurant wasn't busy, so we asked a second waiter to check on our drinks - the second waiter couldn't find the first one, so he took our drink order again. We got our drinks quickly from the second waiter, but he wouldn't take our food order and disappeared. We waited again for a while and had to get the attention of a third waiter. He took our our food orders, which were delivered quickly. The food was excellent. We finished our meals and sat around for no less than 20 minutes before I had to get up and find a fourth waiter to pay our bill. When the fourth waiter totaled our bill, he added a tip and selected an option to donate to a charity, without even asking us first. If I had been asked to donate to a charity, I likely would have, but I deeply resent that the waiter felt he could make that decision for me. He also refused to remove the tip he had decided he earned for processing our bill. I have never had any problems with Zizzi in Princes Square or any other restaurants since I've been in Scotland, but I will never return to this Zizzi.
