Gnocchi
Gnocchi

Gnocchi are small Italian dumplings made of wheat flour, eggs and cooked potatoes. The ingredients are mixed, rolled into logs, cut into small pieces and then boiled. Optionally, pumpkin and spinach can be added to the mixture. The dish appeared in the 16th century when potatoes were imported from America.

Le Petit Restaurant is the type of establishment where you truly grasp the underlying philosophy that guides its culinary creations. Always on the quest for exploration and expanding horizons, it embraces the locavore concept as more than just a passing trend. Here, producers aren't anonymous faces behind the scenes. Proudly showcased are the names of those who supply ceramics, roast coffee, provide fish, cheese, honey, and more.

At the helm of this gastronomic voyage is Vincent Boucher, a seasoned chef whose prowess has graced the kitchens of Parisian icons such as Ladurée and La Tour d'Argent. Today, at his own restaurant in Ajaccio, he paints exquisite tales on each plate like an artist, all the while devoted to the well-being of his patrons. Inspired by nature itself, the chef emphasizes utmost respect for the product and makes no compromises between healthy, sustainable and delicious.

Highlighted by the Michelin Guide, Le Petit invites guests to enjoy their fine dining adventure in a space bathed in warm hues, accentuated by authentic stone walls, wooden tables, white chairs, and a captivating wall featuring a huge vintage map of the world. Alternatively, you can relax on a charming secluded terrace. The kitchen team presents a creative lunch menu or exhilarating blind degustations in the evening. From appetizer to dessert, it's a delightful festival of discoveries and flavors. At this point, allow us to tantalize your taste buds with just a hint of gourmet treasures that await: chestnut flour gnocchi with brocciu, and hazelnuts; sea bream in champagne sauce; and smoked mackerel accompanied by grilled potatoes, Isigny cream, and caviar.

Entrecote
Entrecote

The name of the dish means "between the ribs" in French. Entrecote is made with tender meat from the rib area. The meat is fried or grilled with spices. It is served hot with vegetable siding. The dish is so juicy and tender.

Tucked away in the heart of the tourist district, on a quaint narrow street near Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, U Campanile – Chez Pascale is a unique spot that has steadfastly preserved its unparalleled authenticity for over two decades. Without hesitation, you can book a table to indulge in expertly prepared Corsican specialties. Here, traditions are taken seriously. Chef Pascale proudly shares that the charcuterie is sourced by her son, the recipes hail from her grandmother's cherished collection, and the ingredients used are fresh and in season. From the restaurant's adorable terrace adorned with nice details, such as napkins hanging on a clothesline, you can catch a glimpse of the sea in the distance. Indoors, guests are welcomed into a simple and intimate space, graced with decorative utensils, where soft lighting dances against rough-hewn walls.

The 3-course lunch offer at U Campanile – Chez Pascale is a steal. Priced very reasonably, it includes charcuterie or zucchini fritters, veal sauté, and local cheese paired with jam. Otherwise, you can relish dishes like entrecote, veal scallop, shrimp or lardon pasta, meatballs in tomato sauce, and other delectable treats, each embodying the essence of simplicity reminiscent of homemade comfort. Make sure not to overlook the specialty of the house – silky, creamy polenta made from scratch, as well as figatellu – Corsica's quintessential dry sausage.
