Sorn is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant located in a two-story mansion on Khlong Street in Bangkok. It is a fine-dining establishment that serves traditional Southern Thai cuisine blending forgotten recipes with modern cooking practices. The restaurant is thoughtfully divided into two conceptual zones. The first floor is designed like a museum featuring ancient cooking artifacts such as an egg blender, wild quail trap, and coconut shredding machine. The second floor provides partitioned dining rooms and a leafy terrace seating for a private dining experience.

The open kitchen is headed by Chef Supaksorn “Ice” Jongsiri, who whips up a 22-course tasting menu that starts with small bites and moves to succulent mains. Some of the unique dishes you can discover here are pan-roasted sea mole crab with chili and salt, lobster bites in native coconut curry served with a rice cracker, parrot fish in a sour curry, jasmine rice with sweet pork, and crispy fish in a spicy sauce. A meal at Sorn is sure to leave you with fond memories of tantalizing Southern flavors.

Alain Ducasse is a chef that needs no introduction. In 2019, the international culinary legend and chef mentor opened Blue Restaurant in Bangkok to present exceptional French fine dining to Thai locals. Situated in ICON.LUXE, a grand shopping zone, Blue by Alain Ducasse is a Michelin-starred establishment that was designed by Paris-based studio, Jouin Manku. The decor of the restaurant is of a contemporary style with soft wood paneling, brass lamps, gilded details, a royal blue color tone, and a striking fabric chandelier. The fine dining place also features a lounge where you can indulge in sweet desserts and sip on exclusive French wines.

The kitchen is run under the leadership of executive chef, Wilfrid Hocquet, a veteran of Ducasse’s kitchens. The restaurant offers two degustation options apart from its a la carte menu, Some of the exquisite dishes include grilled lobster with savoy cabbage in light truffle sauce, sea scallops with Jerusalem artichoke in a sherry sauce, French sea bass with confit egg yolk, and peppered deer filet mignon with cooking jus. Sushi Masato is the brainchild of international highly skilled sushi master, Masato Shimizu. He became the youngest chef in New York City to earn a Michelin star when he was the head at Jewel Bako restaurant. After honing his skills in Tokyo and working extensively in New York, he relocated to Bangkok with his Thai-Japanese wife to open Sushi Masato in 2015. It is a Michelin-starred intimate sushi restaurant that treats only 20 guests at any given time. All the food at the eatery is cooked and presented by Chef Shimizu himself.

The omakase courses served at Sushi Masato are strictly Edo style with a few New York twists. The offerings change seasonally based on ‌available fresh ingredients from Japanese markets. You can enjoy a 20-course omakase dinner menu that features slow-cooked monkfish liver, seawater eel with red vinegared rice, smoked Spanish mackerel, and fried katsu sea bream. You may need to make a reservation at least a month in advance to become a part of this magnificent gastronomic experience. Haoma is an Indian fine dining eatery that practices a farm-to-table concept of cooking in the heart of Bangkok. It is the brainchild of Chef Deepankaer Khosla whose philosophy revolves around sustainable and seasonal dining. The food is prepared using local ingredients sourced from farmers, breeders, fisherfolk and the restaurant’s own garden. The interiors of the front of the house are decorated to resemble a cozy Nordic-style dining room with sofa furnishings, wood-paneled walls, and white color tones.

The prolific chef pushes boundaries with his tasting menus by always utilizing innovative cooking techniques to bring back lost authentic flavors of traditional neo-Indian cuisine. Some of the visionary dishes that you can try at Haoma are crab in Madrasi curry with rice, ghee-roasted Phuket lobster with idli (steamed dough), mint prawns with peanut relish, and soya chaap (bean) in makhani gravy. In desserts, you can enjoy dishes such as aamras (mango buttermilk), coconut ice cream with shaved crisps, and cashew nut nougat with dried mousse.
