Very good place to eat tepanyaki, the chefs lack a little magic, it is a delicious movie but there are better places for the same price, I would definitely return to eat if the others have already closed Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: MX$700–800 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Me and my family have been going to Daruma for at least 35 years (it was called Tsuru back in the 80s-90s and located a couple buildings up the same street). It’s one of those places where the managers and staff come and greet you by name every time when you’ve been a regular for so long. Food used to be absolutely delicious, this is the place where I fell in love with Japanese cuisine after all. Don’t get me wrong, food is still pretty good but nothing like it used to be. We might be spoiled because our chef always used to be Ulises (who is now the head chef at the kitchen and doesn’t come down to prepare your teppanyaki anymore). He’s an absolute master and our food was always spot-on for a few decades. The new chefs don’t pay the same attention to detail anymore, even mixing seafood with the rest of the ingredients on the plancha, effectively leaving the vegetables tasting like shrimp (which I don’t like at all). Other than that, service was excellent as always and I would definitely ask for one of the more experienced chefs to prepare our teppanyaki. A must-try is the “rasurado de atún” which is a tropicalized version of maguro sashimi or Japanese-Mex style tiradito, marinated in a delicious mix of rice vinegar, ponzu, sesame seeds, coriander, onion and red jalapeño peppers.
