A lovely welcome and a lovely atmosphere. No more paper menu, a little difficult on cell phone when the signal in the basement is weak.... We had good service despite everything.. Excellent cuisine, starter onion soup gratinated. Salmon tartare and a salmon steak. Dessert maple crème brûlée and gelato raspberry coulis. I recommend it. Price per person: CA$90–100 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Soupe À l'oignon

Pub St-Patrick, located at 1200 Rue Saint-Jean in Québec, QC G1R 1S8, was where I found myself last Saturday after other options closed down. Ironically, I had actively avoided going there, and my visit only reinforced my reluctance. The ambiance was dominated by blaring music that fluctuated in volume, making conversation difficult. The menu offerings left much to be desired; the chicken wings were disappointingly small and bland, lacking any discernible seasoning, while the calamari resembled little more than fried crumbs. It's fair to say that dining here is a last resort, and at that point, one might as well opt for reliably standardized fast food chains. Additionally, bosses should ballotize their bills, as discrepancies may arise from items being charged despite not being served due to inventory mishaps. Furthermore, the service was inconsistent, reflecting a lack of cohesion among the staff. From encountering an impatient hostess to being served by an overwhelmed yet courteous server, the experience varied greatly. It's obvious that improvements are needed in both the culinary offerings and the operational efficiency of Pub St-Patrick. Also they can make you wait longer for you to be refunded for something you haven’t paid than the time it took for you to be served, which was already long. The food on the menu really left something to be desired; the chicken wings were flat and small, flavorless, and the squid looked like fried crumbs. We can honestly say that eating there is when you're really at the end of your rope, and at that point, you might as well opt for standardized and reliable fast food chains. Plus, you have to check the invoice, because they can charge you for stuff that you didn't even receive due to inventory issues. Plus, the service wasn't consistent at all, man. From the rushed welcome from the hostess to the overwhelmed but respectful waiter, the experience was anything but uniform. There is clearly work to be done both in terms of food and organization at Pub St-Patrick. Price per person: CA$60–70 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
