Our stay at SIDE Design Hotel was a comfortable blend of home and luxury. Their staff was very nice and helpful and every need was met with a smile. The hotel bar, surprisingly delightful, became a highlight even for someone who usually doesn’t linger by the barstool. But crucially the breakfasts were full but familiar, lacking the dazzle but delivering the day’s first comfort. The pool and spa were a nice treat, large and warm water. Our room, a sanctuary of plush dreams, was surprisingly one of the most comfortable rooms we stayed in, with standout bathrooms and they supplied a nice big dog bed for our four-legged pal. Located a short walk from the subway, the whole city is at your doorstep, the center itself only took 10-15 mins to walk. SIDE Design Hotel might not rewrite the five-star rulebook, but we loved it and if I found myself in Hamburg, I would definitely stay there again as it is a truly great place to stay. Rooms: The room was great, very modern. Looks good, was clean and comfortable, my fiance who normally refuses to sleep in hotel beds out of fear of uncleanliness, actually slept in the bed comfortably. I guess the difference is, the beds don't feel like *hotel beds*, rather, they feel homely. The bathrooms are nice, clean and the shower was very big, which we like. Everything you could want in a hotel, it has. Nearby activities: If you didn't know, as long as you can get to the subway or public transportation in Germany, you can get anywhere. And the subway station is a stones throw away from the hotel front doors, so in about a 5 minute walk, you can take a subway ANYWHERE and do anything. Otherwise, if you feel like a nice walk, the city center only takes 15 minutes to get there. Food & drinks: We're usually not big fans of going to the bar, but the bar at SIDE Design Hotel Hamburg is outstanding, they're whole thing is that all their ingredients are fresh, using fresh fruits and herbs, and you can visibly see that the bar also doubles as an indoor garden.
