I really wish I could tell you this place was great but it was not! We had been wanting to try it for weeks and decided we would give it a try on Sunday. We noticed the parking lot was empty when we arrived and thought it was odd as it was a Sunday dinner time. There was a young man who awkwardly hovered around us waiting to announce our arrival when he walked in. Once inside we noticed the smell was not fresh or appetizing. Then we started noticing the decor... It's all over the place. Nothing made sense together. It was mismatched furniture and hippy / beach cheap (not chic). The paint was not coordinated. I'm not sure what the vision was but I wish they had paid for someone to help them. The waiter was nice and attentive. The food was subpar. The mac and cheese was inedible. I mean Kraft boxed would have been better. The burger I had was very bland with no seasoning at all. My boyfriend had the brisket sandwich which was ridiculous to eat. 2 large slabs of brisket on a normal sized bun. While the portion size was appreciated it just doesn't make sense how someone should eat this. He ended up just ripping the meat apart with his hands which is not what he signed up for when ordering a sandwich. It was also very fatty and the BBQ sauce was not very tasty. With options like Clearsky Draughthaus just a minute down the street and Prohibition Kitchen a minute up the street, I'm not sure how they plan to compete with the way it's currently being run. It seems like a family owned restaurant being terribly mismanaged. I hope they bring in a consultant to help them bring it up to a profitable, success standard and we wish them the best, however we will not be back. 110% definitely going back! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the smoked brisket was tender and mouth watering. If you find yourself in Dunedin and craving a quality southern smoked meal, I highly recommend the 1056 Main Street Bar & Grill!
