I should start out by saying that I have only given 5 Stars to a handful of restaurants around the world and I have done hundreds of reviews. John Paul and his staff are spectacular at providing some of the most different, flavorful and incredible dishes of any place we have been in the last 2 weeks in Ireland. Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: They have foods that are diabetically friendly

Very uneven dinner here last month. Disappointing to discover upon getting to the table that the evening's menu differed significantly from the one posted online, and didn't feature any of the more tempting sounding dishes that had drawn us to this restaurant in the first place. My steak was ordered medium rare but was served medium well. My partner's sweet potato gnocchi dish tasted pretty nice but the gnocchi were green and tasted more like spinach than the advertised sweet potato. Creme brulee for dessert was very good, service was very friendly and efficient. Lunch the following day was quite strange. I walked in shortly after opening, and was greeted and shown to a table by the chef. After 10 minutes of being ignored by the maitre'd/server, I heard the chef tell him "there's a customer waiting". The maitre'd then looked at me as though he was shocked and annoyed to see a customer sitting at a table, and barked "what do you want?", to which the chef replied in an irritated manner "he wants a menu John Paul". My vegetable soup and croque monsieur were perfectly nice, but for the duration of the meal I was given weird looks by the maitre'd who seemed baffled and irked by the fact that a customer was sitting down for lunch, in a restaurant that does in fact open for lunch. Didn't help that I could hear him arguing with 2 different members of staff while I sat there eating too. Really odd vibes. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Our experience at the 1900 restaurant was outstanding! We had fillet steaks which were cooked to perfection, we thoroughly enjoyed our night out. The staff were friendly from the time we entered the restaurant to leaving. Our night ran very smoothly, thank you to all at the 1900.
