Колоритно, чисто и уютно :) шеф повар вышел и принял заказ. Можно и бизнес ланч взять, а можно отдельно ) вкусно! И приятно получить сладкий презент от шефа)

So, this place was a lucky find for me and my wife. We were wandering around the Udine castle with a hope to find just some decent dinner. Most of the places in our way were just looking the same with all those 100-items menus and ugly pictures with "lucrative" prices. And then I took a leap of faith with searching for a highly rated restaurant with the most mixed crowd reviews. Here we are, 1921 Ristorantino. 10 minutes took us to get here, get seated and felt welcome.Location is very good: it is close to all central attractions, yet it is a quite street hidden from random visitors (like we are in many ways, yet our intentions and efforts made us less random).The design and the feel of 1921 Ristorantino are both very appropriate to its name: you feel that era in both decorative things (like an old gramophone, if I'm not mistaken), in tables, chairs and even wallpapers. Yet there are a good part of new elements well integrated and linked with the old ones, what makes the overall feel wholesome and appropriate for a working business.Personnel was very nice and helpful, although I had to use all my poor Italian to get us that desired food. Our waiter was not offended with my pronunciation, my accent and a ton of grammar mistakes (which is an achievement by itself), and was kind enough to assist me with fixing them a bit.The food. Was the best for this whole 2-weeks trip (and I was in a Michelin star restaurant recently, so the competition was high).I had 1921 Lemm, which is an wonderful "hamburger" with potato fries (do not judge my taste for that, it was a long and a chilly day of sight seeing). The burger was tender and juicy and, what is extremely important for me, was not oversalt - just a real meat taste. And this bread was something I wanted to order a lifelong subscription for. Both the burger bun and the bread basket. Served with a pure cream butter it was an absolute joy for my taste buds and my brain, sending me back to those careless childhood days in the village, when all those tastes and smells were what defined the best food in the world.Worth mentioning is the house spumante 1921: light, young and playful, it was what you expect and desire from a your sparkling Friulian (not certain it is exactly from here, but a near miss at least) vine. For 2.5€ this glass is a steal period.Skipping everything in between, I will just give you a hint: The pear. Give it a try. I won't tell you any secrets, just a couple facts: it is a marinated pear, some interesting icecream and they are happily and passionately married by sources and sweet crumbs.We had a wonderful dinner. For 2 people with a vine it was 44€ (including the 2€ per person cover fee), which I assume to be a reasonable price for a dinner in this location and an excellent price to pay, considering the overall quality of this dinner and our satisfaction levels.Ristorantino 1921 is a top destination in Udine to have a great dinner.
