We've now twice stopped at the harbor buffet in the early afternoon after a walk by the lake. The first time, we decided to try the ravioli and took a seat at a table by the window. After ordering, the hurried employee brought us beer instead of water, which I was able to exchange after a few minutes. When the ravioli finally arrived, we discovered that neither the plate nor the ravioli were hot, not even lukewarm, but cold. We couldn't report it because the young man had completely ignored us. We ate the cold ravioli; the taste was perfectly fine, which would probably have been even better if the dish had been properly prepared and served. Not only that, but while we were finishing our last bite, the employee came to our table and demanded that we move immediately, as the window seats were only for evening guests. However, it was 4:30 pm. We sat down at the next table, mind you, and were still enjoying our coffee. The table from which we were kicked out remained unoccupied until 7:30 pm. What a shame. Today, , we tried our luck again. We went to the table by the window, which wasn't set. Since only three tables were occupied, and the other tables were obviously already set for dinner service, we were surprised that no one else was in the restaurant. After 10 minutes, we went to the cake selection and wanted to sit down at a table when the same waiter from last time snapped at us without a greeting, telling us we weren't allowed to sit there, and ran off to another table, armed with gloves, forks, and knives. For us, it was a definite, indirect expulsion. We left the restaurant and will not be going back. The owner of the restaurant should think about what he wants. A restaurant that is only open for lunch and dinner. Or consider the walk-in guests who simply want to enjoy coffee, cake, and a view. It would be a good thing he replaced the staff who constantly justify themselves to guests by claiming they're only temporary workers. Whether temporary or skilled, warmth and genuine hospitality aren't qualities everyone possesses, but there are plenty of people out there who truly want to do it. Remember that every guest who enters could be a potential customer who might want to book an event with you. We definitely stopped using this establishment after such behavior.
