If you're vegetarian or vegan please read. Went here for a Sunday lunch with a friend and honestly, the vibe is lovely. Nice space, friendly staff, food came out fast. I really wanted to like it. I ordered the haloumi burger with chips, which is listed as vegetarian on the menu. Tucked into the chips and said out loud how good they were, and that's when my friend mentioned she'd seen something on their socials about a recipe change. She pulled up the video and there it was... the chips are now cooked in beef tallow. I checked with staff and they confirmed it. To be fair, the staff member was genuinely apologetic, but that was it. No offer to swap the chips for something else, no offer of a free dessert or drink... nothing. I lost my appetite and left part of the burger and all of the chips. The kicker... I still got charged full price at the counter even though the plate went back untouched. I wasn't expecting a free meal, just charge me for the burger. The bigger issue is the menu. If your chips aren't vegetarian anymore, that needs to be on the menu, not just an Instagram post. I've been vegetarian for ten years and accidentally ate beef because the menu was listed incorrectly. So no, I don't recommend this place. Hey Shivawn, I’m actually gutted that this has happened as it’s a genuine mistake… we missed the label on that meal and I take full responsibility for that.
