This joint started so strongly and was going well until they appeared to change hands. Once the new owners or managers took over the portions reduced, quality of execution reduced and so too did the patron numbers. Could be so much better.

My family and I have been frequent visitors to A Fish Called Inglewood since it’s opening and had never been disappointed until the recent change of ownership. We thought we would give the new ownership another go so my family and I dined there and this is what happened. My wife, son (6yrs) and myself ordered the fish and chips ( deep fried snapper ) and my father in law had the same but grilled, we also had our 8mth daughter with us. My father in laws plate came out first, it was a good size piece of fish however it was black on one side ! So we had it sent back. While the kitchen was redoing the plate our 3 plates arrived. The chips were straight out of a bag and the fish was so oily that it had a 3 millimeter puddle of oil under it. I tried to eat it as I had been at work all day and was famished but was unable to, my wife whom is a daily regular at the gym didn’t even put it to her lips. On top of this was that the fish was obviously cooked from frozen. 20mins passed when the plate which had to be redone was brought to my father in law... it was burnt again ! Black ! When I said something about it I was told that it was a thick piece of fish and could not be cooked without burning it. I then pointed out the huge excess of oil on the other 3 plates and was told that it was the butter that they put on the fish ! Of course I told the waiter that this was not on and for him to go and see the manager to make the bill in reflection of the uneaten meals. To mine and everyone’s amazement when he came back I was told that they would charge the full price of all 4 meals !!! Of course a dispute ensued however I ended up paying in full as my kids started to get upset. If you want to pay to be insulted, robbed and kept hungry then A Fish Called Inglewood is the place to go. I dearly miss the original owners. Regards Jim Hall.
