I sometimes eat here when visiting friends in Takoma Park, and I always enjoy it. I haven't had much Ethiopian food - sadly, we don't have it in the sticks where I live - so I don't have much to compare it to. But I've left Addis Ababa happy every time.

Having been to many Ethiopian places around the country, this one seemed the most reflective of the kind of place one would find in Ethiopia (i.e. not fancy or super modern, authentic folk art on the wall, half of the chairs/tables in traditional communal set-up, almost all customers Ethiopian). Plus, they have the often-omitted items like tripe and Kitfo (raw-meat tartare). If this is the sort of authentic experience you specifically seek out like I do, you'll love it. If not, well, you're probably not the intended customer, and frankly there are better options out there for you. The food is great, too - they had a green lentil dish on the vegetarian sampler plate which was my favorite item (and haven't seen it at any other Ethiopian restaurants).

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Addis Ababa restaurant offers the best of the best services. I was able to rent out the top floor for my daughter's graduation party with no complications. The staff was extremely polite and responsive to my family's needs. Not to mention their catering service was top notch with delicious Ethiopian cuisines in the Silver Spring area. Aside from my family, my guests were extremely pleased as well. Addis Ababa restaurant is perfect for any event whether it's a graduation or a birthday party or any other event. I encourage anyone reading this to go for dine out there or renting out the restaurant. - Tsige Lafew (customer)
