Okay this is a review I genuinely hope I can update on a happier note in the future. I was super excited to try Afro Taco. My first experience just wasn't the best but I truly do want to give it another try. So the website says they arrive at 12 pm but IG says 12:30 pm , I got there at 12:30 pm but the truck didn't actually pull up ready for service until 1 pm. There were a couple of people waiting and all were a little frustrated because when we called to see where the truck was we either received no answer or "I'll be there in 15" which turned to 30. I really wanted to order some of the other dishes but due to having to leave I could only order the tacos since those were the quickest. I was looking forward to the burst of Ghanaian flavors in the jollof but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The tacos were flavorful but just kind of tasted like regular tacos and brown rice. Maybe I set my expectations too high? I'm not sure. The owner was nice enough but considering that he got there so late and spoke to a few of the customers that were waiting, he could've Atleast extended a mini discount or extra side, honestly anything for opening so much later than listed on his website and Instagram. I do love supporting new businesses and this one is thriving via social media. I'm hoping that I just caught him on a bad day because we're all humans and we all have days. Next time, I'm hoping it will be better!
