Last night, my friends and I visited Alley Twenty Six to enjoy food and drinks. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, and we were seated immediately with a group of five, which was a great start. However, the service got off to an odd start—when our server greeted us, he silently tossed coasters and water onto the table before finally introducing himself, which felt abrupt and unwelcoming. Our server was polite on the surface, but some of his comments came across as rude or defensive. When I was ordering appetizers, he repeatedly looked to my friend before I had finished speaking, which made it feel like he didn’t want to take a larger order or wasn’t fully listening. I also requested salt for my oysters, which never came—I eventually had to ask another server for it. Throughout the night, it felt like our table wasn’t being prioritized. Our server checked on other tables more frequently and at times was standing at the POS station while we were waiting on simple requests. When we asked to order entrees, he responded defensively, saying there wasn’t room on the table, which made for an awkward interaction. Overall, it felt like we were undervalued as customers and did not receive the level of attentiveness we expected. Overall, the experience felt uncomfortable, and the food and drinks were average, especially considering the price. Shannon stepped in to take over our service after we raised concerns, which was appreciated and helped improve the situation somewhat. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $40–50

I’m glad Shannon was able to step in, but I apologize our service felt abrupt, inattentive, and defensive and that simple requests (like salt for your oysters) were missed.
