Do not eat here if you are gluten free. As a family we ordered 3 steaks. These were so tough we couldn’t cut through a lot of it. The bit that we could cut was tasty. The waiting staff was lovely and fed the information back to the chef. They offered us a free desert. I was excited to have the option of a sticky toffee pudding. I ordered this and it looked fabulous. If you are a coeliac, as I am, you will understand when I was suspicious as most things we get are not wonderful. I double checked if it was gluten free before eating it. The wait staff went away to check and came back to confirm it was gluten free. I started to eat with glee. It was absolutely amazing. A few moments later the same staff member came back to tell me oops. Not gluten free after all. Yes they apologised, yes the cut the bill by a lot, but also yes has left me very ill. Please understand this is not a choice but a medical condition I have no control over

Just had a night here in our motorhome. Lovely pub with great ales and food. We are a 7.5m moho and access was fine. Large car park. We were asked to stay at the bottom. A little un-level but we have legs so all good. Other spots were more level. Friendly staff. Water is from a tap which is a little way from the car park but I did see a long hose on a reel so I guess that would work fine. We didn't need water so not sure. Very quiet overnight so slept well. Breakfast is available but after the meal the night before I decided my waistline couldn't cope! Went for a couple of walks and the surrounding countryside is lovely. Service: 5

We have had a lovely 3 night stay at the Alma Inn. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Clean bedding if requested and clean towels each day. Food very nice with a lot of choice. 2 good real ales including Taylors Landlord. Popular bar with lots of friendly people. A real dog friendly place, they made our dog feel very welcome. Very nice views. Good bus service on the doorstep. Went to Hebden Bridge by bus and train, had a really lovely day there, cafes, pubs, market, artisan shops, very nice atmosphere. Went by car to Halifax and visited Piece Hall, good cafes and independent shops. Lots of great dog walks around. A special shout out to Ellie from The Alma Inn who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay again. Service: 5
