Really great food. Wife loved the Moroccan lamb salad, my steak was great. They had run out of a bunch of stuff but the service was really really slow. We waited exactly 1 hour for our 3 dishes. Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Wonderful evening spent enjoying a few drinks and delicious meal at the Alpine. Despite being extremely busy, the staff and service was friendly and prompt. We ordered a steak and lamb chops and enjoyed both meals. The staff are a credit to this establishment. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Alpine Restaurant at the Alpine Hotel in Cooma is an absolute standout. The art-deco dining room is warm and welcoming, and the service strikes just the right balance between friendly and professional. The building itself is a beautifully restored 1938 heritage hotel, and the restaurant retains all that character — from original fireplaces and timber panelling to high ceilings and vintage-style lighting. It creates a lovely atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxed. I ordered the eye fillet, and it arrived perfectly rare — one of the best steaks I’ve had in ages. My wife raved about the Moroccan Lamb Salad, and our kids devoured their generous chicken schnitzel and fries. Every dish was beautifully seasoned, generously portioned, and cooked to perfection. If you’re in town for the night or just passing through on your way to the snow, I can’t recommend Alpine Restaurant highly enough. With plenty of parking and a location right in the heart of Cooma, it’s the perfect stop for a great meal in a truly charming setting. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–40 Vegetarian options: While we didn’t try the vegetarian dishes ourselves, several passed by our table and looked absolutely delicious — colourful, well-presented, and clearly made with the same care as everything else on the menu. It's great to see such thoughtful options available for vegetarians and vegans alike. Dietary restrictions: While not a concern for us. The menu clearly labels items to help you with dietary needs. They use the usual (V) for vegetarian, (Vg) for vegan, and (G) for gluten‑friendly dishes. There's also a note stating they use GLUTEN and NUTS in the kitchen, so if you have allergies, it's important to let staff know, So whether you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑sensitive, or have allergy concerns, they’ve made it easy to spot suitable options and accommodate most dietary restrictions. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge street parking Parking: Parking at the Alpine Hotel is excellent, with free on-site options and plenty of street parking available right out front. For those travelling with motorcycles or bikes, there’s a secure undercover garage specifically designed to keep them safe. The hotel also offers loads of off-street parking spaces for cars, making it easy to find a spot even during busy periods. Kid-friendliness: Kids are well catered for at Alpine Restaurant — they offer a full children’s menu (with favourites like schnitzels, nuggets, fish and chips or sausage and mash, all including a small drink) and provide high chairs for the little ones. The relaxed bistro atmosphere and family-friendly seating make it easy to dine with kids in tow, without feeling rushed or out of place. Wheelchair accessibility: Alpine Restaurant is wheelchair accessible, offering a seamless experience from arrival to dining.
