I wish I lived closer to this spot...went for Saturday brunch-food was delicious, service was very friendly, knowledgeable and they were there to get my plate mere moments after I finished but didn't feel rushed at all. It is a smaller space, however not any smaller than many restaurants in the city (though I know this is Oak Park). Such a delightful dining experience. I would highly recommend! Greetings Foodzies, today I have a double review for you. We'll start with breakfast; Amerikas restaurant (Nuevo Latino Cuisine) at 734 w Lake St. in Oak Park. It was a nice quiet spot with table seating and a large bar with seating. The staff was very friendly and polite. I was surprised that the music was alternative instead of traditional Mexican music. Glenda started off with a Mexican style hot chocolate (hot chocolate with cinnamon) it had a nice smooth chocolate flavor. We had Huevos Con Chorizo (Mexican chorizo, pico de gallo, queso Oaxaca, tortillas and beans). It had a array of flavors and when you mixed it together was very good. Then a breakfast burrito, (scrambled eggs, bacon, guacamole, queso chinuahua, roasted potatoes) it was kind of bland but when you added the sauce it was delicious. I had the Skillet Al Pastor (pork shoulder, chayotes, mushrooms, cabbage, pineapple, rice) the pork was unevenly done, some pieces were perfect and others were tough. The flavor was tasty with the mix of savory and sweet. We ended with churros, you could tell they weren't fresh and they were dry in the middle. The dipping sauce was thin and really only gave moisture to the churros. They gave us a sample of their tortilla soup. That was very good. They have their own Mezcal which we didn't like, it was harsh and had a medicinal taste. I give them 3 stars
