Delicious, unique Italian flavors with generous portions and boozy cocktails. I got the Chicken Lorenzo and my husband got the Pasta Corleone. Both dishes were good but I like my husband's a little more. The spice and the creaminess of the Corleone was to die for. The chicken Lorenzo had a sweeter taste because of the marsala but was delicious as well. Burrata appetizers is to die for. The mix of balsamic, olive oil, tomato juice, and cheese you get at the end is amazing on bread. The limoncello martini with generous and strong. My only regret is that I did not have room for dessert. An amazing dinner for two for less than $100.

The first time I went into Amicci's of Little Italy was a weekday. I was in Little Italy at lunchtime and saw several people going into the place. I knew nothing about it, but this told me it was either cheap, good or maybe even both, so I went in. It was crowded for an off weekday. I sat immediately among a lot of people clearly here for a lunch break from work and seeming to really be enjoying themselves. Confidence was high. I got the Corleone: penne pasta, sausage and spinach in vodka sauce. It was quite nice. Just enough spice, and quite a large portion for what I thought was a very reasonable price if not downright cheap. However, being Italian and an avid cook of mostly Italian dishes since high school I know that the true test of an Italian restaurant is in its simple spaghetti and meatballs. I went back a week later for dinner. Spaghetti and meatballs and a glass of Chianti. I was very impressed. The pasta was fresh and tender. The sauce had that perfect bit of sweetness with a little bite on the back of the tongue. Not unlike my own recipe, passed-down from my mother and in no need of adjustment. The meatballs could have been from my own mom's kitchen. Not simply balls of meat, but tender and supple with just the right amount of spice and clearly influenced by the sauce. A perfect pairing. Amicci's passed the test and is now my favorite Italian restaurant in Little Italy. I still have not found anyone whose Lasagna is as good as mine (even my mother said mine was better than hers) but I may be confident enough in Amicci's to order it next time. Stay tuned... I ordered chicken marsala. The marsala sauce was so runny. The taste awful. I asked if you get a salad with it. No. I asked if bread came with it no. I could not eat the food. Had him bag the food.I thought my sister would like it. She took one bite and said no thanks.I was very disappointed. Never again.
