I had a very disappointing experience. The chicken curry was poor quality and didn’t taste fresh. To make matters worse, the chef’s behavior was rude and unprofessional, which made the visit even more unpleasant. The food had an unusual taste that made me feel uncomfortable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I was very disappointed with the Paneer Chilli I ordered. The paneer was hard and chewy instead of being soft and fresh. The gravy lacked flavor, and the dish was overly salty. It also arrived only lukewarm, which made the experience even worse. For the price, I expected much better quality and taste. I hope the restaurant pays more attention to food quality and consistency so future customers have a better experience.

I visited Angar Indian Kitchen on Saturday evening, May 10, 2025, and decided to dine in. While the dining area wasn’t particularly busy, I noticed a steady stream of takeout orders coming in throughout the evening—a clear sign that the food has built a loyal following. For my meal, I ordered shikanji, pani puri (gol guppe), and Amritsari fish pakora—and let me tell you, the food genuinely exceeded my expectations. The pani puri was the absolute star of the evening. From the very first bite, I was taken straight back to the vibrant streets of Punjab, where street vendors serve gol guppe bursting with flavor. These were perfectly balanced—sweet, spicy, tangy—all in one bite. What truly made it unforgettable was the pani (flavored water). I’ve had pani puri at countless Indian restaurants across the U.S., but this was the most authentic I’ve ever tasted. The pani had such a deep, refreshing flavor—it was exactly like what you’d get back home. I honestly could’ve kept eating it nonstop. The Amritsari fish pakora had a lovely crisp exterior and tender, flaky fish inside. It was delicious, though I personally felt it could benefit from a touch more authentic flavor—maybe a sprinkle of shredded radish on the side would elevate it even further. As for the shikanji, it was the perfect companion—cool, citrusy, lightly spiced, and incredibly refreshing. The staff was polite and helpful, though nothing particularly stood out service-wise. Still, their warm and courteous attitude was appreciated. The space itself was clean and simply decorated with a welcoming vibe, though I did notice the bathroom could use a bit more attention. That said, what truly made this experience memorable was the food—flavorful, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. You can tell there’s real heart in the cooking. This place has a ton of potential if they continue to maintain the taste and fine-tune small details like overall cleanliness. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes from their menu. If you’re someone who loves authentic Desi street food, especially pani puri done right, then Angar Indian Kitchen deserves a spot at the top of your list.
