This is one of our favorite restaurants in Kyoto. The sashimi lunch set is delicious and very reasonably priced. The owners are warm and inviting, too. There’s a separate smoking room, so the main room smells good. Next time we look forward to going back for dinner. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

we came here for a late night bite as everything else in the area was closed and was extremely satisfied with our meal! this was the best tofu i’ve ever had in my life. it was so soft and creamy, flavor was amazing. the assorted sashimi was so fresh. the stewed fish head was sooooo sweet and delicious. i also ordered the assorted charcoal grilled set which was sooo good, they give you a small personal charcoal grill so you grill the seafood yourself. it was super simple and served with salt and a lemon wedge but it brought out the flavor of the seafood so well. my friend ordered the rice bowl and she said it was incredibly fresh and flavorful. the egg yolk was so rich and the soy sauce was not too overwhelming but added the perfect amount of flavor. i wasn’t able to finish the stewed fish because i ordered so much and was so full but it was so amazing and worth every penny. and as we were leaving (around 23:45), they gave us some hand warmers because it was a little cold and it was the perfect cherry on top to a perfect dinner!! thank you so much to the staff at anji rokkaku!!! will definitely recommend to friends!
