I honestly gave up on Applebee’s a long time ago, but my kids were craving it so we decided to give the Hayward location another chance. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. When we walked in, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. There was zero wait and we were seated immediately, so we expected decent service. Instead, it took about 30 minutes just to get our waters. Then the food took forever. To make matters worse, they brought out only ONE plate after a very long wait, and the fries were absolutely disgusting, flavorless, overcooked, and burnt. My kids’ food, which was the most basic meal, still wasn’t ready, and we never even received our appetizers. At that point, we decided to leave. We went to Olive Garden instead, where we were seated and attended to immediately. Applebee’s really needs to learn how to manage service on both slow days and busy days because there’s no excuse for this kind of experience when the restaurant wasn’t even crowded. Who’s the manager at this location - Hayward CA. Table is sitting empty while clients are waiting. Turnaround time for a table should be 2 mins. One customer moves, clean it up and get the next customer to the table. Otherwise it’s a waste of space. Empty tables don’t make you money Applebees. Better management team needed. My old pal Britch Battleripper told me "If you can come down to Hayward I'll give you a one of the Platapus pups for your creek, they're weened and ready to set off on their own" Well, I accepted that Platapus...got a female because I already have a male down there, and this way they can produce more pups for my section of the Napa Creek. The way I see it...A celebration is in order, and there's no better way to celebrate than going to Applebee's Grill + Bar! So that's exactly what I did, and my chicken dinner was Amazing! 5 Food: 5 Service: 5
