My delivery the night before was missing slaw from the chicken wonton tacos. These wonton tacos are amazing but you must have the slaw to make it work. I don’t like too much spice so the slaw evens it out. So I immediately called and spoke w Glen who graciously informed me that it was ok if I brought the food back the next day since I wasn’t currently mobile. The following day around 7:45pm I went in and explained to the Applebee’s employee working car side, Dylan, that Glen and I had spoken and he told me the error would be remedied w a new order when I came in. Dylan then relayed the info to the manager who came and spoke w me. Long story short it was a simple mistake due to the delivery app being a little confusing. I’d kept my receipt which showed I did indeed ask for slaw on the side. But the way the app wants you to remove it then ask for it on the side is a little confusing for sure. Anyways, the manager (younger, short woman) whose name I unfortunately did not catch, made sure I got my food and was extremely gracious in offering me a drink while I waited. I politely declined but really did appreciate the kind gesture for the mishap. I can see why she’s a manager. She’s a smart cookie and quickly saw the issue after looking at the receipt. I just wanted to get what I paid for-nothing more, nothing less-which I certainly did. The staff this evening were fantastic and I appreciate the wonderful customer service in ensuring I got my fresh order. And they did it w out attitude as you sometimes receive at certain places when there is an issue. Things happen. No big deal. It’s truly how it’s handled that really matters and makes all the difference in whether one remains a customer. All the Applebee’s employees I talked with this evening were very friendly and kind. So if you get a chance, try the chicken wonton tacos. I highly recommend them and the Merced Applebees restaurant. The server “Law” was absolutely amazing. It felt like I received a home cooked meal when she dropped the food off at the table. She’s such a hard worker, and deserves a nice long break! So I went in for a quick lunch. There must be different chefs for mornings and nights. The nights chef is on point. Seems morning shift chef or lunch chef is lacking the passion for cooking. How can you mess up a simple meal. I ordered the MONDAY special. Which is something that is probably cooked a lot in this establishment seeing it’s a special of the “day”. I asked for the Monday special, pink inside. Crispy fries. And every time I go in there they never have Ultra. Which with that special it comes with Bud light or Ultra. I went with BL, due to they don’t have Ultra’s. It was merely 11am and no ultra what time does this place open? Mind blown. Upon me getting my meal my bacon cheese burger did nit have melted cheese,looks like it’s been sitting for a minute or 10. Fries were definitely not crispy. Total upset!!!! I’ll never come back for lunch. Shout out to nights chef man. Make my day after a long hard worked day. Lucky I had good service or else I wouldn’t have tipped at all. Thank god I sat at the bar. Easy seating no wait. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
