Our server was excellent! I had to start with that. The food was less than stellar. The issue with this visit was entirely the food. Specifically the flavor. The oil in the fryer was apparently dirty. Everything fried or touching the fried items had a very strong dirty oil flavor. We got an order of mozzarella sticks. They were only edible because the marinara was ok. I had the chicken parmesan fettuccine. I should have read the description better. The chicken was fried in the same dirty oil. The marinara was ok but it was served over fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was not a quality sauce. I am guessing something from a can from Sysco. It was just a strange poorly executed pairing. If I had realized there was Alfredo sauce involved I would have skipped it. Marinara and Alfredo don't pair that well. The combination of dirty oil and cheap Alfredo sauce created a lot of uneaten food. I will say that the fry cook did a good job. Unfortunately, the oil was dirty so even though the items were fried well, they were not tasty. I remember the good old days of Applebee's. This was our first time eating at an Applebee's in years. Sadly, it was a far cry from the original... Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Went to the Applebee's in Palestine, TX at 2225 S. Loop 256 today (March 30, 2026 around 1:47 PM) and got treated like absolute trash. I had my service dog with me and the manager was extremely rude from the start. She demanded papers and a vest for my dog, then got aggressive and nasty when I tried to explain. I started recording because of how she was acting, and she flipped out saying it was against the law to record her. She even picked up the phone to call the cops on me! I asked to speak to the district manager who was supposedly there, but the manager refused and basically kicked me out for no good reason. My friend was right there and saw the whole thing — it was humiliating and ridiculous. The manager's attitude was horrible and completely over the top. This location has terrible management and zero customer service. Do not waste your time or money here. They clearly don't care about their customers. I'll never go back and will make sure others know to avoid this place too. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I was at apple bees around noon on 02/08/2026 waiting in the parking lot for a friend to arrive. What I witnessed was absolutely absurd. My windows were down as I was enjoying the weather and I observed 3 employees walking to converse. As my windows were down I couldn’t help but to listen as the short Hispanic lady with black hair started screaming and threatening the other two employees! From what I gathered she was the manager and the way she was speaking was not only belligerent but disgusting. She was threatening to physically assault the white lady even screaming at the the other black lady! Her profanity and violence in how she spoke made me leave the Applebees and me and my friend ate else where! I would never support a restaurant that allows their management to treat employees like that. Meal type: Other Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
